How to identify paper wasps
Brownish with yellow or reddish markings, about ¾–1 inch long, with long legs that dangle in flight. Their nests are open, gray, honeycomb-like combs hung from a single stalk — usually under an eave, soffit, porch ceiling, or deck rail.
